For a "hike report", check out my dailymile post.

This is Walnut Creek in the middle of July?

Did you know that closed circuit TV cameras allow for low prices? I didn't.

In case you were wondering what the pie looked like right before we ate it.

This is also after being in the fridge overnight. You could say my posts are a day delayed, since I took that last night. Despite a bit too much food coloring, it was very much a tasty pie.

Bet you can't guess what type of pie this is.

But it's designer: Colors by Miss Emma. ;-) Picture before baking because the purple is more purple that way.

And it's really big. Don't think I've seen something like that before. (@ 2nd and Howard, SF)

Taken on my run earlier today. Hopefully we'll have time today to drive up there and see it close up.

Sunset from Briones

Took these pictures at the top of a hill on today's run into Briones. As usual, my dailymile post has all the run info: http://www.dailymile.com/people/bemjb/entries/5202441

Pictures from today's run in Shell Ridge Open Space

It’s beautiful out today, so I had to stop and take some pictures on my run. The last few are of a tree that I saw at the top of the ridge that was entirely hollowed out.

Muddy Run To Briones

And this time, I did it the right way, so I got to run around in the park itself. See my Daily Mile post for details.

I took some pictures on the way:

The cows were out in force in the Walnut Creek Open Space (Acalanes Ridge)

This is heading up the hill in Briones, and I noticed that there was one brown cow.

The view from the top. I had to stop and admire it. I'm not sure my cameraphone does it justice.

Looking back the way I came, towards Mt. Diablo.

Another view from the top.

On the way back down, I got a much better view of the one brown cow.
