Thanks to Penny Arcade, I am now listening to Metroid Metal, a reimagining of Metroid music as metal. Now all I want to do with my life is to sit down on the couch and play Metroid Prime and company. My wife doesn't like watching me play Metroid, though, so I'm now wishing I still had my Gamecube and I had a second TV to attach it to...
While I liked Welcome to Haiti: Creole 101, The Preacher's Son and Masquerade just didn't do it for me. Looking at the Amazon reviews of Carnival II, it looks like I might be in the minority (as his other albums scored much higher). Anyways, if you liked the Carnival and the Ecleftic, maybe you'll be like me, and play Carnival II on repeat for awhile. Too bad that Lauryn's off in another world and we'll never get any more of the Fugees.
I don't want to be too much of an Amazon MP3 store ad, but when I see a deal like this, I've gotta spread the word. If I didn't already own the album, I would cop this in an instant.
Anthony Hamilton.
Edit: apparently, the videos I originally linked to disappeared, and the official videos aren't embeddable (why?!?). So here are some links:
See what I mean? Man's got so much soul, you can smell the chicken and greens when he sings. ;)
Cop your mp3 of the aforementioned song. I just did, and now I wish I had all the rest of my J5 with me. Ah well, this will work for now. =]
(and now I'm tempted to buy the album)
This video (and the song) is tight. Props to Garry for turning me on to it.
I'm listening to Dap Dippin' with Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings. And
well, I had to share some of the awesomeness with the internets. If you
ain't never heard, Sharon Jones is like the female James Brown. Check it.

Seriously! It's the Amazon MP3 Store daily deal! (The Amazon MP3 Twitter feed is goodness. =) Since I'm a nice guy, here's the title track for your enjoyment, and to persuade you that 99 cents is a steal for the album. (I had to reduce the quality down to 128kbps, since the original is a 13MB 235kbps VBR file, and I'm too lazy to raise the attachment size limit on my mail server.)
