And if I was posting this directly to LiveJournal, that would be my mood to go along with this post. That, and hungry. Running 12 miles gives one lots of appetite. I guess it's time for me to be looking into signing up for a half marathon in the not too distant future, and maybe I'll get around to doing an actual marathon in 2009. Now that's something that even a month ago, I wouldn't have necessarily felt that I would want to do. (It's too bad I didn't have a camera with me this morning, or I would have accompanied this post with a picture of the Highway 4 sign.)
We're visiting my wife's cousins for Thanksgiving. I went on a run this morning, and decided to map it. I discovered that Gmaps Pedometer now has automatic routing, which is beyond awesome. Instead of taking 10 minutes to painstakingly draw my route and match the straight lines to the streets, now the computer does it for me. Awesomeness++.
I'm amazed at how long it has taken, but they've finally posted the pictures. And while I wasn't really planning on buying them, I am truly amazed at how much they charge for these pictures, especially to actually get the high res originals. At those prices, the low res, watermarked versions are good enough for me.
I took this picture on my run yesterday. The dark clouds over Mt Diablo just requested a picture.
This morning, my sister and I ran the 10k in the Lafayette
Reservoir Run. This has to be the fastest I've ever seen official
results posted, but my time has been posted. Not as fast as two weeks ago, but I think I had a better overall run. I definitely had a much better finish, as I had plenty of energy left to sprint to the finish line. And when these guys say that it's a hilly course, they don't joke. The path around the reservoir was pretty, but had some gnarly hills. I'll post pictures if/when they get posted to the interwebs. I'm pretty
sure they got me in the official pics this time. Oh, yeah one random note: the shirt design for the race looks pretty
crappy on the website, but it actually looks pretty good on the shirt.
I'm happily surprised.

On my Thursday lunchtime run, I passed by The Maltese Falcon. It's even
more impressive in person than on the internets, so I took a picture. I
hear that it's going to be around for awhile, so if you happen to be
down by Fisherman's Wharf, it's worth taking a look.

I took these pictures a couple of weeks ago when visiting my wife's family in Lemoore, and haven't copied them off of my phone until now. This is what a morning run looks like when you run along the path next to the canal and out of the town.
While I ran this two weeks ago (October 10th), I forgot to go back and look up the official results until today. I'm on there as "Ben Jones-Bey", because they apparently decided that I must have made a typo in my name. Anyways, I did it in 47:58, which is about 7 minutes faster than my previous 10k time. Of course, it's a different course and all, but I'm still quite happy about that. I'm doing the Lafayette Reservoir Run this weekend, and we'll see how that compares.
This morning, I saw Orion standing next to a planet.
