Best Pen EVAR

The Pulse Smartpen is one of the coolest gadgets I've seen in a long time. One of my coworkers just acquired one, and now half the office wants one. For $150, the ability to have my notes and other things that I write in a notepad to be connected with my computer is beyond worth it. The advantages of this over a tablet computer are numerous to me: first and foremost, there's the price. Also, I can use this in direct sunlight, something no current laptop screen can do (except the OLPC, but that's too small for adult hands). Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that they're going to be releasing an SDK so that users can write their own applications for the pen. Ok, I think I'm done gushing about it for now, but it's definitely jumped right to the top of my wishlist.

Ack

Thanks to a link shared by a friend on
Google Reader, I have discovered Ack, and it is the greatest thing
since sliced bread. I don't think I'll ever use grep again. (And it
works anywhere Perl works, which means that if you're stuck on Windows,
you can use it there, too!)

Candlestick

I'm in Candlestick Park for the first time ever, sitting in the middle of the field, having just finished the Stadium to Stadium 10k. There is a gospel band playing, which is really fitting, given all the praying that I did for the last mile. It is crazy hot out! More to come later, when I'm not typing on my cellphone, once I have my official time. (It looks like I did better than a 9 minute mile, which makes me happy.)

Paprika

I watched Paprika a few weeks ago, and it was awesome. It is now one of my favorite movies ever. It's the first movie that I have seen that made me think that watching it on BluRay was actually worth it.

My coworker has the soundtrack and sent me the song below, and I just had to share. Obviously, I need to acquire the soundtrack myself.
